Learning Piano vs. Learning Electronic Keyboard

It's much harder to learn piano!

That's cause the piano, despite the better "press," has notes that die away. This is true even for the best piano in the world. Thus, you have to keep playing new notes to keep the music going and these new notes are too often played by the worst hand you possess, the left one.

Don't think I'm right? Answer quickly - which hand gives you the most trouble? Which do you worry about doing complex tasks? What IS the role of the LH in playing piano? See what I mean?

Right now we are in "the soup" and folks don't trust business much. This makes it hard for music instructors and what do they do? Pull the wagons in a circle and make it even harder to learn to play. I think this is a dumbass strategy.

The electronic keyboard makes tons of sounds very well indeed, are cheap to buy and easy to move, never need to be tuned, and even help you learn to play.

But they are not as easy to play as the online business people tell you.  Readers who don't trust such liars are very correct.

So you get lousy choices - too hard (the piano) or too easy ("learn the secrets of the pros in only ____.")

Still, there IS a middle way and I'm trying to find it. Any input? Send me email at danstarrorg@yahoo.com
